1. Why should I wash my child's plush toy?
At daycare, on the street, on a walk, on a trip, your baby has chosen their favorite comforter and won't let go of it? Has their plush toy taken on an indefinable color and smell? No doubt, it's time to send it for a spin in the washing machine... Especially since it's scientifically proven that washing plush toys protects your baby!
If your child sucks on their comforter daily, it's essential to consider regular washing of their favorite plush toy: a scientific study has shown that the comforter your baby chews on easily absorbs microbes, because the mouth is a humid environment very conducive to the development of bacteria... Therefore, it's easier to understand why some hospitals refuse to allow comforters in the operating room: baby's beloved plush toy is also a real nest of microbes!
So, it can't be said enough: it is C-R-U-C-I-A-L to regularly wash baby's plush toy... And you're in luck: at La Pelucherie, all our products are machine washable!
2. Is it necessary to wash my La Pelucherie plush toy before giving it to my baby?
3. How can I get my baby to accept washing their comforter?
If we've convinced you of the importance of washing a comforter, the hardest part is yet to come: because baby can be VERY reluctant to let their plush toy go into the washing machine. A comforter also carries the smell of home that they take everywhere with them! Taking it away is like depriving them of their familiar environment... But don't panic! Today, we're giving you our best tips for gently washing a comforter.
The first option for a peaceful wash is to buy several copies of the favorite comforter: this method allows one of baby's plush toys to be washed while the other continues to accompany them on their adventures.
For those who get this little tip a bit late, our second tip is for you! It's possible to wash the comforter when your child is at daycare or school. No one will know! Washing the favorite comforter can also be done stealthily at night, but be careful to take into account the drying time and not to be spotted by baby, they might take it as a small betrayal...
With the moms of friends from daycare, you can also set a common comforter washing day. And voilà, the excuse for washing is found: the comforter has gone to get a makeover with its friends!
It's also possible to use baby's bath time to wash the comforter, and explain to our little one that while they are washing, the comforter is also going for its wash.
Finally, if the child is older, you can explain in simple words that washing the comforter helps kill microbes and helps limit the entry of diseases into their body.

4. How do I care for my plush toy?
Our plush toys don't like heat! Opt for a low-temperature wash, at 30°C. High temperatures damage the plush toy and dull its color. Can you imagine a gray Sam panda? Once the plush toy is clean, it's time for the tumble dryer. The same care as for washing. Always gently. Select a low-temperature program.
Finally, brush the plush toy with a carding brush to restore its original condition. If you don't have one, you can also use a hairbrush if it's soft. With this little bath, your plush toy will be clean and beautiful again, ready for hugs, slobbery kisses, and marker stains!

Bonjour,
